Vertical Sustainable City

Project Overview

The Vertical Sustainable City reimagines the skyscraper as a self-sustaining urban ecosystem that integrates living, food production, commerce, and work within a single vertical community. Developed for the 2019 eVolo Skyscraper Competition, the concept challenges conventional urban sprawl by minimizing the building footprint while creating a resilient mixed-use environment that reduces transportation demands and strengthens local food production.

Organized around a vertical farm-to-table model, the tower layers commercial spaces, urban agriculture, housing, offices, and renewable energy systems into one interconnected structure. By combining sustainable technologies with future-forward mobility and public spaces, the proposal explores how high-density cities can become more efficient, self-sufficient, and environmentally responsible.
